A new start just in time for the End

Way back in 2005, I starting drawing a comic as a way to keep busy over Spring Break. Nine years later, I think I’m finally ready to say goodbye to Juathuur. After two incarnations that cumulatively total over 1700 pages, I think I can safely say this comic has had a good, long run. I wouldn’t consider it my best work, but it has served to carry me through that awkward transition from college to “real life”, taught me discipline and dedication in my practice, and connected me with so many amazing readers and creators. I think of it as a sketchbook that maintains a record of 9 years of evolution and worldbuilding.

As Gatecrash draws to a close with chapter 43, I want to thank all the readers who have stuck with me over the years through all the highs and lows, as well as everyone whose feedback and encouragement kept me going. And yes, even those readers who so meticulously assisted in calling me out on all my typos and continuity errors (so many!).

Although I’m sure I could easily wring another couple hundred pages out of this project, I’m feeling that the time is right to pull it to a conclusion and allow the other stories waving around in my brain for attention to have their chance in the sun. The comic will continue to live here until I get around to making it into an ebook.

So what’s next? I think I’ll take a break from comics for a bit and focus on finishing up the novels I’ve got on the go. If you wanna keep apprised of my new stuff, feel free to follow me on twitter, my tumblr artblog (http://hexacosm.tumblr.com/) or on DA. And hey, I’m always looking for beta readers!

Enjoy the countdown to the end and thanks again for the amazing ride.
